As in previous years, the 2012 Goodwood Revival lived up to all the hype and delivered the unique spectacle and on-circuit drama we all hoped for, even expected. The Woodgate team as usual were in the thick of it with 5 cars running in 2 events, the Freddie March Trophy Race and the always exciting RAC TT Celebration. |

The Draper brothers were taking a weekend off from their professional racing exploits in the McLaren MC12 in the European GT3 Championship to exercise Project 214 and 22 XKX, the ex-Le Mans DB4GT Zagato. Both cars and brothers performed well, enjoying the cut and thrust of this spectacular event, but sadly towards the end the professional co-driver, ‘usually a safe pair of hands’, had an off in the Project Car resulting in a little body damage. Over from the USA was Jim Freeman who had an excellent run in the very famous DB4GT 17TVX.

The Freddie March Memorial 90 minute race saw David Bennett in his trusty DB3S/10 sharing with Aston factory demo driver Richard Hope and piloting DB3/6 was Mark Midgley and our Chris Woodgate. This race, which ran into the night, was brilliant for competitors and spectators alike with the DB3 finishing a credible 14th and the DB3S not far behind in 18th. We can’t wait until next year!! |
